Miller’s Fresh Turkeys – Update

Unlimited orders will be taken until Nov 16. After that we will have a limited number of turkeys available until they are gone. Call us or stop by to order your turkey. We do order the bird especially for you, so we do expect you to pick it up even if your plans change. Miller turkey’s are not free-range, organic or heritage; they are chill packed, not frozen. You can also reserve your bake and serve Chef Pierre fruit high pies and your Tulmeadow ice cream.

If you haven’t tried them, the Chef Pierre frozen high-pies are really great, full of big chunks of fruit. Slip them into your own pie plate, pop in the oven frozen and you’ll have a pie your guests think you baked from scratch (as well as that wonderful smell). Many flavors from apple to pumpkin to fruit of the forest (mixed fruits).

You can reserve your pies and our ice cream too, just to be sure you get your favorite flavor!

It’s the End of a Season

Tulmeadow Farm Grass-Fed Beef

Tulmeadow cows grazing on a beautiful fall day in West Simsbury, Connecticut

Sadly, field crops are over with the last frost. Greenhouse produce is still available, along with autumn’s bounty of potatoes, onions, shallots and winter squash.

You can always get your ice cream in the farmstore in pints, quarts, pies, chocolate dipped ice cream on-a-stick and chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. Or buy it at Fitzgerald’s Food Store and Kane’s Market in Simsbury, the Meat House in Avon, Marandino’s in New Hartford, and Whole Foods in West Hartford and Glastonbury.

We keep our farm store open everyday for you through December 31st.

Frost is almost on the Pumpkin!

Tulmeadow Mums and Pumpkins

Mums are coming into full bloom and our pumkins are ready for picking…

It’s going to be a beautiful fall weekend coming up. It’ll be a perfect time to take a ride and get your mums, pumpkins and corn stalks for fall decorating. Our pick your own pumpkin patch will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Columbus Holiday) from 10-4. Pumpkins in the patch are only 35¢ a pound. Top it off with a Tulmeadow ice cream cone and enjoy the fall foliage for a perfect family day.

Due to the cool night weather, our tomato crop is struggling so getting them is hit or miss at this time. We still have sweet corn… but limited, frost is upon us.
